20 Best places for Women to get tattoos

Best Places for Women to Get Tattoos ...

I have been wanting to get a tattoo for a while now, so I did some research and came up with this list of the best places to get tattoos.

When making the choice to get a tattoo, you want it to be something you won't regret a couple years down the road, and you want it to be in a tasteful and flattering spot.
However, you also want to make sure that it can be hidden for the workplace if necessary, right?
Keep in mind, tattoos will hurt no matter what, and it really depends on your individual pain tolerance.
Everyone handles it differently, but in general, here are the 20 best places to get tattoos, girls.

1. INNER WRIST

Inner Wrist
To begin the list of the best places to get tattoos, we have the wrist placement.
This is a great placement because it is said to be low on the pain scale, it's good space for smaller tattoos or words, and can also be hidden for work.
Stack on a couple bracelets or a watch and voila!
Depending on the size of your tattoo, and depending on your body, it will heal rather quickly.
Just be sure to take care of it of course, and stay clear of the jewelry until it is totally healed!

2. ANKLE

Ankle
One of the least painful tattoos to get is the one on the ankle.
Not only do people say that the pain level is really low, but it is one of the most feminine places to get a tattoo.
I have seen people sport small, intricate designs around their ankles, while others have plain hearts, equal #signs, and stars that looked equally as good.
In addition, hiding your ankle tattoo won't be a problem, because many high top shoes can easily cover them!

3. EAR

Ear
I've heard #people say that getting an ear tattoo doesn't really hurt because it gives off a tickling sensation, which makes it a lot more encouraging to choose it as a perfect place for a tattoo.
Ear tattoos look very delicate and dainty due to their small nature, which makes them perfect for those who want small statement tattoos.

4. BEHIND THE EAR

Behind the Ear
One of my personal favorite places for a tattoo is behind the ear.
Although you won't be able to show it off with your #hairdown, your up-dos will have an extra 'umph' to them due to the intricate little tattoo behind your ear.
Due to very few nerve endings in that area, it is also one of the least painful places for a tattoo!

5. INNER ARM

Inner Arm
This is a little harder to hide unless you wear longer sleeves, but it looks really pretty and feminine.
There is a little more cushion here so it won't hurt as much as other areas.
Usually this area is chosen for cute little #words as opposed to actual images, but it could be good for both!

6. INNER BICEP

Inner Bicep
Again, this is a little more difficult to hide if you aren't wearing a long sleeve, but it is still possible.
Because this area has less bone, it provides a little more cushion for the needle.
However, your #arm muscles will definitely feel super sore.

7. TOP FINGER TATTOOS

Top Finger Tattoos
Since finger tattoos tend to be very close to the bone, they do hurt, but because those tattoos are very small the pain doesn't last long.
However, if you always wanted a finger tattoo but were afraid that it would smudge and run, one of the best places would be the top of your finger.
Those areas are known for small and delicate designs that most women who desire a small tattoo tend to get.

8. SIDE OF THE FINGER

Side of the Finger
Another place to get a tattoo where you would always be able to enjoy it would be on the side of your fingers.
These tattoos, depending on their size, are easy to cover with rings, but if that is not your intention, rings can emphasize your tattoo just as easily.
As I said before, finger tattoos are very small and dainty so you know you won't regret getting your first tattoo in one of those areas.

9. BACK SHOULDER

Back Shoulder
This is a good placement because it can easily be hidden for work.
The downside of getting a tattoo here would be the difficulty of taking care of it because it is on your back!
Same with sleeping.
If you tend to sleep on your back, you might want to try switching up your sleeping position or picking another placement.

10. UPPER SHOULDER

Upper Shoulder
It is a more painful place because it is an area with a little more bone.
If you are wanting to get a script tattoo, the upper shoulder is a great choice.
However, if you want an image, you might want to consider one of the other options because it doesn't provide much space.

11. SHOULDER

Shoulder
Getting a tattoo on the actual shoulder bone can really hurt because there is not much cushion for the needle.
It can be hidden even if you wear a t-shirt or blouse to work, but can also be shown off when wearing a cute tank top!
So if you are willing to stick through the pain, it would definitely be worth it.

12. FEET

Feet
Feet tattoos are very popular, especially among #women!
Although not wearing closed toed shoes for a little while after might be an inconvenience for some, the results really pay off in the end.
Your foot is a great place for tiny and even elaborate designs of your choosing.
The pain is said to be from mild to extreme but don't let stop you!

13. NAPE OF THE NECK

Nape of the Neck
The nape of your neck neck is another great place that can be hidden easily, but is rather difficult to care for without some assistance.
Another thing to note is that it can hit right on the spine.
However, it is a great, big space for larger tattoos or longer scripts - and looks really pretty.

14. SPINE

Spine
This one makes me cringe at the thought, but can look so cute!
Although it's perfect for a pretty script tattoo, this area is all bone and can be a sensitive area, so be mindful of that.
Definitely going to be one of the most painful places to get tatted, but can be so worth it.
Victoria Beckham's tattoo is a perfect example of just how lovely this placement can be, but it can make for a pretty painful experience.

15. RIB CAGE

Rib Cage
This is a placement that is ALL bone.
Yes, it is obviously coverable, but OUCH!
This spot is not for those with a low pain tolerance at all.
However, images and scripts always look amazing here!

16. UPPER THIGH

Upper Thigh
The upper thigh is a great place for a tattoo!
Do you know why?
You can easily cover it up, but also easily show it, there's space to write as much or as little as you want, and, unlike a rib cage tattoo, everyone else does't already have it!
(Not to knock rib cage tattoos;
I have one, too!) Plus, it will motivate you to do your squats to keep your tattoo looking sexy.

17. CLEAVAGE

Cleavage
That sexy spot between your breasts can be made even sexier with a cleavage tattoo!
Imagine walking down the street in a deep v-neck— jaws will drop, I promise you!
But, when you have a meeting with the boss—or if you are the boss—you can always cover it up easily.

18. SIDE WRIST

Side Wrist
A side wrist tattoo is high enough that you can easily cover it with long sleeves or a blazer.
But, when you're out of your work attire, you can show it off easily, whether it's when you seductively brush your hair out of your face or hand the cute barista your #creditcard.
Come on...
I can't be the only one who uses tattoos for flirtingpurposes!

19.FRONT RIBS
Front Ribs
Tattoos are fun to show off, but it's also nice to have some as a secret, just for yourself and those closest too you.
Odds are, you don't take your shirt off in public too often.
That's why a tattoo on the front of your ribcage (or as I like to call it, the "under boob") might be the ideal #tattoo for you!

20. COLLAR BONE

Collar Bone
Collar bone tattoos are so sweet and whimsical.
They pop out so nicely, but can easily be concealed.
The collar bone is probably one of my favorite placements for tattoos!
So those are the #best places for women to get tattoos while still keeping the placement attractive and professional at the same time.
Also, these won't stretch and #look awkward if you get pregnant down the road.
Remember though, everyone's pain tolerance is different— these may hurt a lot or not at all.
Either way it will be worth it!
But for those of you with tattoos, what was your experience like?
Are there any other areas you suggest?
